The Alibier

Behavior: Specific attitudes and actions of this child at home and/or at school.

  1. Doesn't fulfill responsibilities.

  2. Always offers an excuse regarding why he/she didn't do something.

  3. Feels that the fault lies with someone else.

  4. Often presents highly creative excuses; can offer a spontaneous excuse which may even seem very probable.

  5. Tries to get support from friends, other students, and parents.

  6. Tends to feel he/she is treated unfairly by adults at school and at home.

  7. Approaches every task as a certain failure before making any attempt.

  8. Usually finds faults in teachers and parents quickly.

  9. May fall behind in class work.
