The Chiseler

Behavior: Specific attitudes and actions of this child at home and/or at school.

  1. Seeks "more"-regardless of what it is. If the class is given a "special day," asks for two. If the class is given five extra minutes, asks for ten. No matter what the teacher response-always makes a plea for more.

  2. If teacher concedes and changes an answer on a test question, immediately starts pressuring him/her to change another.

  3. Tries to get out of tasks.

  4. Runs over the inexperienced teacher and exasperates the experienced.

  5. Talks to administrators and counselors in an effort to get an additional benefit or a grade raised.

  6. Will offer any rationalization to achieve more.
