Behaviors At Home

The Loudmouth

Behavior: How exactly is my child behaving?

  • Never talks softly. Everything he or she says is said so that everyone can hear.

  • If some don't hear, says it again louder.

  • Even behaves loudly. Bursts into the room, slams doors, walks heavily, and falls into furniture.

  • May try to be loud in order to be tough.

  • Seems to consider being loud an opportunity to enhance his or her personality.

  • An extrovert.

  • Seems to say, in all he or she does, "I won't let you forget that I'm here."

Please Note
We are labeling behaviors, not children! For the sake of convenience, we will describe behaviors with terms such as The Whiner or The Interrupter.

Never use such labels when talking to—or about—children! Doing so could cause many new problems and seriously damage the teacher-student or parent-child relationship.
