Behavior: How exactly is my child behaving?

  • Generally loud.

  • Very offensive in what he or she says, but very defensive regarding criticism from others.

  • Attempts to impress with offensive words others don't use.

  • Seeks attention with words—continuously.

  • Appears to "know it all," especially in regard to "life in the streets."

  • Reacts negatively in group situations.

  • Tries to shock people with foul language.

  • In one-to-one situations, may be an extremely polite child.
