Behavior Information

The Dreamer

Behavior: How exactly is my child behaving?

  1. Actions vary, but result of behavior is always the same. Usually quiet, probably an under- achiever, and mentally "a million miles away" from what is happening.

  2. Sometimes just sits and looks out the window.

  3. May draw, doodle, or engage in some other type of diverted, individual activity.

  4. May appear scholarly—or try to give a serious and scholarly appearance.

  5. Does not really participate in discussions. May ask a question but is not thinking about the subject being discussed.

  6. Seldom, if ever, volunteers to do anything.

  7. Does not appear to realize or fear the consequences of his or her behavior.

  8. At school, usually not doing what rest of class is doing.

  9. Takes out his or her homework, opens a book, and appears to be diligently involved in homework—but is not.

  10. Fails to turn in daily papers or assignments.

  11. Often asks for help with work that has been finished by the rest of the class long ago.

  12. However, attendance is often regular.
