Behavior Information

The Chiseler

Behavior: How exactly is my child behaving?

  1. Seeks "more"—regardless of what it is. If this child is given a $5 allowance, he or she will ask for $10.If curfew is 10:00, he or she will plead for 10:30. No matter what the parent response, this child always makes a plea for more.

  2. If parent concedes and meets this child's demands, he or she responds with another.

  3. Tries to get out of tasks.

  4. "Runs over" the parents (if the parents allow it).

  5. Talks to teachers, administrators, and counselors in an effort to get an additional benefit or a grade raised.

  6. Will offer any rationalization to get more.
